Throughout the year we host a variety of weGather events. Whether you are someone who is looking for escorted trips or not, everyone is welcome! Most months, our community gathers locally to hear travelogues and informative presentations. weGather events allow you to expand your horizons, have fun and meet new people without the hassle of packing your bags!

Events take place at MKD Funeral Home located at Post Drive and US 131.
weGather's are gatherings focusing on travel related topics that everyone is welcome to attend. It is an opportunity for us to gather as a travel community and continue to learn. We hope you can join us!
Two Walkabouts in Japan

Get ready to shatter any preconceived notions you have about Japan, and go on two fascinating walkabouts with Kate. With more than 70 percent of the land undeveloped, there’s a lot of interesting terrain to see in Japan. The 2018 journey concentrated on the largely-forgotten Kunisaki peninsula on the island of Kyushu. The 2024 trip focused on segments of Shikoku Island’s 750-mile 88-Temple pilgrimage (among the world’s oldest). In addition, we will “spend” a little time in the fabulous and historic city of Kyoto. Ikimasho! Let’s go!
Kate Dernocoeur's love for hiking led her to reignite an old love affair with Japanese culture in October, 2018, and lured her in again in 2024. Join her for an armchair adventure to the pathways, traditional ryoken (inns), and local cuisine of Japan. Kate bases her adventures from her quiet, peaceful home on a gravel road in Vergennes Twp, between Ada and Lowell.
